I noticed that when I hangout with my friends in Tokyo we don't do anything in particular but walk around. It totally is a waste of time if you think it is but it's a lot of fun for me because I get to hang out with my best friends. :)

Dad's Birthday & Visiting Grand Parents

Today was my dad's 60th birthday. We went to Meiji shrine and then to my grandparents house. I am not religious but I like visiting Meiji shrine for its calm atmosphere. Pictures above I took them at the shrine.

My grandpa and granma were very excited to see me since I hadn't seen them for a while and they welcomed me with a LOT of food!! :) I was happy that my dog, Gonta was still alive. He is 17 years old and is still happy and healthy.

Lunch and Afternoon with Naoko

I went to Shibuya today to hangout with Naoko. She is a friend I have known ever since I was 14 so that makes her my really close friend that I have known for 11 years now. :) She is a very happy person and I adore her so much. We went to our favorite hangout place in Shibuya, T.G.I Fridays. I just noticed it was actually Friday today and I feel kinda dorky now... but anyway, I was very surprised how cheap our meal was at Fridays. I had LocoMoco and it was 10 dollars. It came with refill free drink and a nice cup of soup. Of course in Japan we NEVER pay tips so the meal was really only 1000 yen. We ordered brownies later on and stayed there for about 4 hours.

We went shopping for a while and then went to rest at a Starbucks in the train station building. Tokyo is reallllyyyyy crowded and it is very annoying walking around especially in rush hours... i miss San Francisco. :(

At Starbucks, I saw a Caucasian guy in a t-shirt that said "Fuck off" with the same logo from this book store called "Book Off" in Japan. I wanted to go ask him where he got it, but my Japanese side stopped me from actually going up to a stranger and ask him the question. It is considered to be "abnormal behavior" to do such thing in Japan.

Overall I had a good day.

May 22 Thursday, Dinner with Emiko

Emiko is my best friend whom I have known for 15 years now. :)

I often hangout with her when I am in Tokyo. It felt as though I saw her the week before and did not feel like I hadn't seen her for four months. How nice to have friends like her. I cannot wait to see another best friend of mine Maki soon. She said she was going to Okinawa for vacation this weekend so I have to wait till next week to meet up with her. Maki and Emiko are my best of bestfriends that I really hope to keep till I become an old old grandma!

Arriving Japan

I'm writing this in my home in Tokyo now. Every time I come home, it feels as if I never went to San Francisco and never left Japan for my life here is so different from what I have in the U.S..

Today was really warm just like a couple weekends ago in San Francisco. The temperature was about 26 degrees Celsius. (I'm not sure what that would be in Fahrenheit.) I went for a walk with my mother and then shopping for a new computer since our laptop has been too old now.

Yesterday was a very long day. My flight from San Francisco international airport to Narita Airpot was fun and short although the flight was actually 11 hours long. I sat next to this old guy called David. He was a Lebanese American who was teaching in the U.S. and in Africa. He said that he was a counceler and teacher and that he was going to go to Singapore and Philipines for conferences. He was a very well educated sincere gentle man and he was nice enough to teach me about Pshycology. Later on he also showed me this fun math trick, (I will show you what he taught me if you are interested.) and in return I taught him how to play Sudoku. :) He said that the area in Africa he was working in has a lot of people with traumatic experiences and they need help. Through his work that he has been doing for so many years he got to know Brad Pitt's brother and they have been good frineds too! This was probably the closest I got to Brad Pitt. :P The weirdest but the coolest thing was that David's daughter's African given middle name was Aya! How peculiar!!

I went to eat dinner on Polk St. with Sandy. :) The weather was nice today in San Francisco and I didn't want to go home after dinner so I walked.

a New Journal

Here it goes. This is my new journal online. Since I'm going to have more free time during the summer, I deciede to post pictures to show what my life is like in Tokyo. I don't want the whole world to know what's on my mind so I'm not going to write a diary but I will post as many pictures as I can. This will be my photo journal. I hope you all enjoy it.

My very first picture on this journal is my own little Tardis. It makes me a super dork that I have one, but its really cute. :)
